HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY to all you moms out there! And especially to my mom (the greatest in the world!) - it was great having her with us this weekend!
We jumped back into our Phobia series this Sunday and dealt with the fear of failure. I don’t know a single preson who doesn’t struggle with this fear, and Byron brought some great insight from Peter’s denial. Here are my notes:
- There are two types of failure. Jesus is primarily concerned with only one of them.
- Jesus knows that b/c of our imperfection, there will be “performance failures” in our life. Peter’s denial was a performance failure.
- Jesus prays that we don’t have a faith failure.
- Performance failures can actually increase your faith - just as it did in Peter’s life.
- Your failures combined with your faith are designed to strengthen others. (Luke 22:32)
We’ll finish up the series next week covering a phobia that haunts us all - in fact, it’s probably the one thing we worry about the most.
